Well, it is supposed to be Summer, not so sure this year, but despite the weather, gardens are looking good generally. Which just goes to show that plants are t0ugher than we give them credit for. Obviously, some get damaged in the winds and rain, but with a bit of effort, this can often be avoided as well. If you cane tall plants, they do stand a better chance of surviving the summer breezes!!

People have different ideas on gardening, some just have a lawn with a few pots on it, some have a lawn and flower borders, while others have a garden and a veg plot. There is nothing better than growing your own veg, but it takes work.
You can also have a pond in it, either for just wildlife or it can have fish in it.
Like flowers in the garden, the veg plot needs to be looked at each day to make sure there are no problems with it before the problem goes too far and ruins the crop. Flowers that have finished need deadheading and there is always weeding and tidying to do. Plus taking out any annual plants that may have finished by now

The Summer is when you want to be able to sit or have a barbie in the garden, and you want it looking nice, with some lovely evening scent.

It takes a lot of work to keep your garden looking good, but there is nothing more satisfying than spending time in the garden on a nice day, even if it is something as boring as weeding. You can then sit back on a chair with a glass of beer or a cup of tea, or just light the barbie and relax and admire your handiwork. Roses and Honeysuckle plants make a great addition to a patio area as well and smell wonderful in the evening.

A garden tends to be a reflection of your home and personality. If it is perfect, with everything in rows etc. that means your house is probably the same, all perfect. If it is just nice and tidy and lots of interesting things in it, your house will be the same. A flower border does not have to be colour coordinated, nature doesn’t do that, or neat and tidy but just a riot of colour throughout summer. A good gardener is always planning ahead, and even now it is time to sow some seeds for next year.
