Are these the words you looked forward to hearing? If you remember that far back, it was a long time ago for most of us or did you enjoy school that much that you didn’t look forward to the holidays?

I have no idea how the schools work now or the education system.
When I went to school, the first year was the first year, and so on. There were set terms, holidays, and nothing like a day off for teacher training or bad weather.
We walked to school with or with our Mothers, depending on age or got a school bus.

We learnt at School and there was no real messing about, and certainly respected the teachers. We were there to learn. There were no computers, calculators, electric typewriters or anything to make life easy. It was all learnt and a lot stayed in your brain.

So what were your school days like?
Did you enjoy them and learn or was it a case of “We don't need no education, we don't need no mind control”?
Did you leave with a good standard of education and exam results, in O and A level, or did you go to college after to improve your education?
