❓🤔It’s Puzzle Time❓🤔
We are always being told to use our brain and keep it active cos it helps stop dementia, this is, in fact, not true, but as we have a brain we should certainly use it and give it something to think about at times.
One of the most relaxing ways is to do some puzzles. Jigsaw puzzles are great fun to do, but you need patience and the room to do them without them being in the way. You can get fold-up jigsaw mats though which are great if you haven’t got a table you can leave it on.
You can do them on the computer but anything under 1000 pieces isn’t worth doing really and the computer ones are so small.
As a child, my Dad and I always had a jigsaw on the go, and some were even double-sided. Now that was fun.
There are tricks to doing a puzzle as well.
Other puzzles include crosswords, cryptic, or general knowledge ones, although to do a cryptic one you need a weird mind. These are readily available online, or in books, and they vary in difficulty.
There are Suduko puzzles which are fun and some are difficult, there are lots of hints and tips on how to do them, but the big ones with loads of numbers are so simple, the smaller ones give you a challenge.
There are puzzle books, including criss-cross puzzles, word search, logic puzzles and all sorts of different puzzles. Some are general puzzles as well, which I think is more fun.
Talking of puzzles, we shouldn’t forget things like the Rubik’s Cube. I would imagine we all spent hours trying to solve it time and time again.
There are also all sorts of wooden puzzles which you can do over and over again.
Also everybody has a pack of cards in the house so why not have a game of patience.
So nobody can ever say they have nothing to do or I’m bored.
If you are into puzzles, the cheapest way is to subscribe online to a newspaper, ie, the Telegraph for £40 a year you have access to unlimited puzzles of different sorts, including things like criss-cross puzzles and words search.
You can play puzzles on your computer or tablet or even phone, and it is a good way to waste a few hours. It can be frustrating but very satisfying if you finish a hard crossword or sudoku.
Do you do puzzles, and if so, what sort? Do you buy the books, which are expensive, or buy newspapers, again which are expensive, or do you do them online?
Love them or hate them, they are very popular, so let's have some fun today with puzzles of all sorts.
All are welcome.
