🍂Goodbye August, Welcome September 🍂
Well, today is the 1st of September, and apart from saying white rabbits for luck, today is the 244th day of the year, and there are 121 days to the end of the year, and Christmas will soon be here.
According to the meteorological seasons, the first day of Autumn arrives today, but the Autumn equinox is on Friday the 23rd of September.
September is usually a pleasant month. Although the nights are drawing in rapidly, we can get some lovely pleasant days. It is a good time to have a late summer break as well. The peak holiday season is over so it will be cheaper and a lot quieter. The landscape is beginning to change, trees are losing their leaves, and there is a nip in the air in the morning. You also start getting your spiders indoors showing themselves more looking for a mate. Do not harm them, they do a lot of good.
Garden-wise, enjoy the last of the summer flowers, although you can get flowering plants right up to November and beyond. Harvest any crops you have grown, or make sure anything that stays in the ground is mulched by the end of the month in case of frosts. Generally, it is a time to tidy up for the coming winter months, and put your garden furniture and BBQs away til next year, leaving out a chair for the odd cuppa outside on a nice day.
Well, let us know what you think of September. To me it is the last of the nice months til March, but some love the autumn and winter months.
Some must have flowers in the garden for September and make good cut flowers as well
Lets enjoy today by posting all things to do with September and maybe some pics of your garden to show us what they look like coming up to Autumn and Happy ….
All are welcome.
And please feel free to share all discussions you enjoy.
