☀️🍨🥵Summer Gardens☀️🍨🥵

Well, by now your garden should be almost at its best. The long hot lazy days of summer are on their way. Time to enjoy your hard work.

Dogs need to enjoy summer as well

But that is in an ideal world and for people with the time to have a perfect garden. Sadly, most of us don't spend enough time on our garden. There is always something to do.
Weeding is the most important and can be very hard work if you don't stay on top of it. The best way with weeds is to pull them out and make sure you get the roots as well, otherwise, there are some very good weed killers to help keep them under control.
Lawns need cutting regularly, and plants dead headed as most will reflower.
Any veg should be kept an eye on for problems, and it is almost time to harvest spuds, and toms, and there is nothing like homegrown spuds freshly dug and boiled and served in a potato salad or as a veg.

Garden furniture should be to hand for the odd cuppa in the day and the BBQ should be cleaned and ready to use for those lovely sunny evenings. There is no need to spend a lot of money on garden furniture or a BBQ for the few times you can use them in this country. There are some very good cheap and cheerful ones around.

Don't forget to keep feeding the birds as well, as they come to rely on it, and also any other wildlife you may be lucky enough to have. They will repay you by bringing their young to your feeders. Also, make sure there is plenty of water about for the birds, and other small animals, remember, not all can climb! A few large plant bases with water at different areas in the garden will help a lot and give you something to look at as well,

So how is your garden doing? Is it thriving or looking very neglected?
Whether you sit out in it or not, it is nice to have some pretty flowers to look out on and also cut for the house. It is well worth the work that is put into it.

Let us know how your garden grows at this time of year and post anything to do with gardening, pics of your garden, or a favourite plant, any gardening tips you may have and let's enjoy some summer gardening fun!
