🌹💐🌻Say It With Flowers 🌹💐🌻
We all like flowers, and most of us have them around the house. There is nothing that brightens a room more than a nice vase of flowers, and a room looks sparse without them, but they are even better if somebody has sent them to you.
Did you know flowers have their own language and many flowers have hidden meanings when given by one person to another? It is called "Floriography".
We all know red roses mean love and are associated with the Greek goddess Aphrodite, the goddess of love and passion, but the number of roses sent has a meaning as well.
1 rose – Love at first sight
2 roses – Love and affection
3 roses – Usually given as a gift for a one-month anniversary
6 roses – You're infatuated and want the recipient to be yours
10 roses – You want to tell them that their love is perfect
12 roses – This is a classic bouquet size to ask someone to be yours
15 roses – Give 15 roses to say sorry
24 roses – This huge bunch of roses simply says 'I'm yours'
50 roses – That's a lot of roses! This is the ultimate romantic bouquet when you want to make an impression
100 roses – This grand statement suggests that your love is in bountiful supply and will last forever."
Yellow flowers are used to convey friendship.
Orange is to used to emphasise something exciting
White is for purity, positivity and eternity. Popular for weddings, anniversaries, and for sympathy.
Pink flowers are to convey love for good friends and family, and are a lovely way to say thanks.
Lavender symbolises admiration with the view to a possible romance or just to say you're great.
In fact, I would think anybody would be over the moon to receive a bunch of roses from somebody.
Other flowers can convey love as well, such as dahlias, red tulips, peonies, carnations and lady's mantle.
For friendship, it is freesias, stocks and lilies and gratitude is conveyed by hydrangeas. Orchids, camellias and amaryllis convey respect and admiration for another person, either platonically or romantically.
If you want to give a man some flowers, which we never think of, sweet Williams is the ideal choice for somebody who has got you out of trouble or is your knight in shining armour! And they are one of the longest lasting cut flowers as well.
To make a big splash of colour in your room, try some sunflowers, or daffs, and for a lovely scent hyacinths, or liliums.
