♥️💋🌹🥰Love Is All Around, It’s St. Valentine’s Day♥️💋🌹🥰
It’s the time of year when we think of love and romance, flowers and chocolates.
Welcome to St. Valentine’s Day!
People spend a lot of money every year buying gifts for their loved ones, but sadly, we have lost sight of what Valentine’s Day is about and its origin.
But behind the rosy facade of Valentine's Day is a mysterious—and grisly—tale of a beheading and body parts scattered across Europe. The Catholic martyr St. Valentine was beheaded on that date in the third century, supposedly for breaking a Roman ban on performing marriages.
Why do we send cards on Valentine's Day?
During the 18th and 19th centuries, the tradition of giving Valentine's Day cards as a romantic gesture began to spread. They were usually handmade at this time, with people decorating them with lace and ribbons. They often included sentimental messages, poems, or even secret declarations of love. Generally, they were given to people and not signed. It was all about someone’s secret love for somebody else. Far more romantic than nowadays.
So, what would be your dream way to celebrate Valentine’s Day? A romantic candlelit dinner somewhere nice, a big bunch of red roses and some chocolates, a teddy bear, or a nice trip away somewhere romantic like Paris?
Mine would be a lovely bunch of red roses, my favourite flower.
So, today, let us know your thoughts about Valentine’s Day and post all things relating to love and romance, and let’s have a nice romantic thread!!
