🥔🥔Let’s enjoy some Potatoes🥔🥔

Well, potatoes are something we all eat one way or another, either in chips, hash-browns, croquettes, mashed, boiled, roasted, or baked to name a few. They can all be bought frozen or fresh, but try to get them as they should be as shown in the pic, not the tasteless ones that are pre-everything for you.
You can even grow them yourself, they are easy enough and there is nothing like a freshly dug crop of new small potatoes boiled and served with butter and mint!

These tubers were first cultivated in Southern Peru and the NW regions of Bolivia between 5000 and 8000 BC and are now one of the primary staple crops.

At one point, Ireland relied on the potato as a food crop and a potato plague starved the entire nation more or less. There was plenty of food grown there and 5 ships a day were being sailed out while the people were starving and being drained dry by the English who ruled them and they only had potatoes and cabbage to live on.

The Russians discovered a different use for the potato. and vodka is a distillation of the potato.

Today, the potato is the 5th most cropped crop worldwide but was something of a curiosity in Europe at the start of the 18th century. Merchants were just starting to bring them from South America and were experimenting with them as a type of food. The rest as they say is history.

Potato Harvester, and I can say from experience being on the back of one of these is awful

It soon took off in popularity and is still very popular today. Potatoes, as some think, are not unhealthy. They are rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, which are mainly in the skin so unpeeled spuds are best.
Studies have linked them and their nutrients to a lot of health benefits, including improved sugar control, reduced heart disease risk, and higher immunity. They are quite high in carbs, and sweet potatoes are high in sugar, but like, anything, they are not unhealthy unless you eat chips every day.
