đ„Letâs Cook Some Jacket Spudsđ„
Jacket spuds are one of the nicest ways to eat potatoes. Cooked properly you can't beat them, and that doesn't include in a microwave. They need to be cooked in an oven so the skin goes crispy and you can eat it. Ok, they take a fair bit longer but it is worth the wait. I know most people do them in the microwave but that really is sacrilege.
Do not buy the awful prewashed prepacked ones from a supermarket they are tasteless and far too small for a jacket spud. The need to have soil on, oh dear you have to wash them! Or go to your local farm shop which will have some homegrown proper spuds for use as a jacket. You canât just use any old spud. There are specific spuds for specific uses.
Jacket spuds make a nice lunch or even a light tea. There are endless fillings to have with them. Some just prefer plain butter. Personally, I prefer no butter and a nice filling.
Here are a few examples of what you can use.
So, next time you are wondering what to have for lunch or dinner, try a nice jacket spud with a lovely filling of your choice. The choice ends with your imagination.
