🌶️🌶️It’s National Chilli Month

I doubt there are many people that don't like a good chilli for tea, especially in the winter. It is warming, spicy and so tasty, either with rice or even a jacket potato. Or put some sour cream on the top and have some nice garlic bread with it.

October is National Chilli Month and encourages people to eat Chilli. It is so easy to cook as well and it doesn't cost a fortune. You can make the standard meat one or veggie one, whichever you prefer, or even try both.

Chilli is associated with America, mostly Texas, and was a great meal for the cowboys, settlers, and pioneers. A lot of people think it is Mexican and does pop up in a lot of Mexican recipe books, but it’s not, it's origin is America.
There are a lot of different recipes to make this hearty dish, so try a few different ones and see which you prefer.  We cook ours in a slow cooker and it is lovely.

To celebrate this month, have a chilli party, invite friends over and some chilli rice, spuds or whatever takes your fancy and a few beers. A perfect fun evening.

You can set up a chilli topping bar, to include things like sour cream, grated cheese, jalapenos or avocados. Your friends can then choose their own topping.

If you are lucky enough to have a Chilli Event in your area, go visit it and try all different sorts.

Whatever you do this month, eat chilli, it is the right sort of weather for it.
