⌚⏱️Classic Watches -V- Smart Watches⌚⏱️

Nowadays, there are a lot of people who wear smartwatches, so what has happened to the traditional watch?

They are still around.
They show the best in watchmaking craftsmanship and design and are irreplaceable pieces of jewellery. They are beautiful and unique and make a woman look feminine, not like a bulky smartwatch.

I have two beautiful ones, one was my Mam's and one Taff bought me years ago, plus a couple of cheaper ones for everyday wear. They do exactly what it says on the box: they tell the time and maybe the date and do exactly what a watch should do.  They last for years and always look smart.

Are smartwatches smart? Well, that is debatable. They are an expensive gimmick and, to most people, a complete waste of money.
They are useful for somebody who is out and about a lot and wants to keep up with emails and messages and for business. Then if you are that sort of person, don't buy a cheapy. They do everything apart from making the tea, it seems.

Not what I call attractive really

People say it has health benefits. Yeah, sure, but the results from a watch are not that accurate.
Count your steps—if my legs hurt at the end of the day, then I have done too many.
Tells you your blood pressure—I have a machine for that.
Blood sugar levels—the same.
It tells the time anywhere in the world—so what? All most people need is the time in the place they live.
Oh, you have had a bad night? Well, if you lay awake most of the night and get up tired, yes, you don't need a watch to tell you that.
Make phone calls—so does a mobile phone—and you don't look quite so stupid walking down the road using that as you would talking to a watch!

I would need to go on a course to learn how to use it. Much quicker to look at a phone or computer.
Smart Watches are generally chunky, and very few look nice.

Ok, a topic for discussion, I hope.
What are your thoughts?
Mine is give me a traditional watch any day and not an overpriced gadget!
