Christmas is coming, and the goose is getting fat. Please put a fiver in the poor Mod’s hat. If you haven’t got a fiver, a tenner will do. If you haven’t got a tenner, then heaven help you!!

It is time to start thinking seriously about Christmas, and to start making lists of cards to send, if you haven’t already sent them, presents to buy and what food you need for the actual day . There are a few extras to buy like a cake, mince pies, cheese, mulled wine and what other booze you need.

It is very easy to get carried away with spending at Christmas, either on food, or presents, but remember you have to live after Christmas. A good plan is to buy some food and presents each week, and allow yourself a budget of what to spend. You should think when planning the food part of it, how many of you are there, and how much food can you actually eat and not waste.

You can start getting in the spirit of Christmas by beginning to put some decorations up. It is surprising how long just a few take.

So when you have finished your lists of cards, pressies and some food, take a break and sit down with a nice glass of wine and, if you have one, a mince pie to put you in the Christmas mood, and don’t forget while your doing this to put some Christmas Music on and have a good old singalong.
