⛱️🌅A Day At The Beach⛱️🌅
Well, it is certainly not the weather for a trip to the beach, to lay on the sand, listen to the sea lapping, and feel the sea breeze! Heaven—you can't beat it!
Sadly, though, that weather has gone, but we can still go to the beach, and it is just as good in the autumn/winter. Take the dogs for a walk on the sand, go for fish and chips, and maybe waste a few quid in the amusement arcades and home to the smell of dinner cooking in the slow cooker. It does set you up for the really bad weather we could get and is well worth the trip.
You have to find the right beach though, sandy cos it is comfortable to walk and lie on, and remote. Nothing worse than laying on a beach hearing lots of screaming kids and generally being disturbed. Hell on earth! These beaches are ideal to ride a horse on or walk your dog and see nobody all day!
The best beaches are off the beaten track, and believe me, they do exist. Most even have sand dunes as well that you can go and watch the world go by. Just need to avoid seaside towns.
So, do you have any nice beaches near you that you can go to for a day and maybe even swim in the sea if you’re brave enough? I did go into the sea in February one year in Cornwall.
If you feel inclined, you could grab a hot drink and then go and sit on the beach for a while.
There is something about beaches when it is getting dark, and you can hear nothing but the sea.
So, when did you last spend a day on the beach and where did you go and was it fun?
Tell us your memories of childhood beaches. Mine are very different to the beaches we have now - pebbles, tar and noise - but as a kid, you didn't mind. As a child, I went to the South Coast, which isn’t brilliant. Brighton was the main place, with its pebbles, tar and tacky gift shops. They did have a huge paddling pool, though, on the front and a train going along the beach.
