đ Let's Eat Some Great Pastađ
Pasta, the name conjures up some wonderful tasty dishes.
Imagine a hot pile of pasta in a rich sauce with seasoned sausage, olives, and mushrooms, served with some crusty garlic bread.
My mouth is watering thinking of it.
Pasta comes in over 600 shapes and their names are generally Italian words that are descriptive of their shapes. "Spaghetti (âcordâ), vermicelli (âlittle wormsâ), rotini (âspiralsâ), fusilli (âspindlesâ), tortellini (âlittle cakesâ), linguini (âlittle tonguesâ), conchiglie (âshellsâ), fettuccine (âsmall ribbonsâ), penne (âquillsâ) and capellini (âfine hairsâ) are the savory little goodies that are essential to any pantry." Pasta can be homemade or shop bought.
Italian food certainly made Pasta famous but Chinese Chow Mein and German Spaetzle are also very popular as pasta dishes
Most people don't eat pasta without some sort of sauce, but you can put so many things on it.
Try some melted butter and garlic, a bolognese sauce or really get inventive with a butternut squash carbonara or avocado and mango sauce.
Or make a pasta salad, and the world is your oyster with what type of salad you make. It also gives body to a boring salad, and there are some lovely dressings you can put on it.
You can buy bolognese sauce but come on how long does it take to make and is far superior.
Pasta can also be eaten with a meal instead of veg.
It should always be cooked Al dente and not be served up as a mush - ruins the taste of pasta completely.
As today is all about Pasta, why not make your evening meal a pasta dish, and let us know what you make.
Do you like pasta and do you eat it often and if so what sort of dishes do you make using it, or do you just open a tin of some sauce and chuck it over it?
All are welcome.
